COLE HAAN GOLF
In 1940, Eddie Haan filed a patent for a golf shoe and started the journey for Cole Haan Golf. More than eighty years later, Cole Haan delivered its first collection of dual-gender golf footwear. I was among the senior level team to launch the category, expanding the brand into sport and offering a unique point-of-view in a growing market. The launch included three constructions for different styles of play, rooted in the brand DNA. Initial distribution included all-doors of Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy. In Spring 2022, the golf silo expanded to include the OriginalGrand Tour shoe and the Overtake golf shoe. Each new model in the expansion was designed to compliment the existing product assortment and elevate performance.
COLE HAAN RUNNING
The Zerogrand Outpace 2 was a major step forward for the brand in terms of performance. The project included new last development and the introduction of a new midsole foam compound, creating a more responsive platform with better cushioning. The upper was designed to provide lightweight support and breathability, while also being iconic and expressive. As a part of the launch strategy, we worked with LGBTQIA+ advocates to create two limited edition sku’s with a portion of the revenue donated to the community support group GLSEN.
To complement the Outpace 2, an existing platform was combined with a full engineered knit upper to create Cole Haan’s first knit running shoe, the Zerogrand Overtake Lite. The two shoes reinforced newly established design language around support and breathability for different styles of running.
ZEROGRAND CHANGEPACE
Consistent with the presented brand strategy, the Outpace 2 construction was utilized to create two new silhouettes through the lens of casual and dress. The Changepace Lace Low was created as a versatile lifestyle shoe with all-day performance, featuring a stretch textile upper, and molded technical eyerow detail. The Changepace Wingtip Sneaker was created as a modern work sneaker at the intersection of sport and Cole Haan heritage. Both were launched as dual-gender silhouettes.
